Super important. And important to clarify that solitude doesn’t necessarily mean being alone, but being alone with one’s thoughts. We probably need to make a conscious effort today to get this solitude - it’s too easy to pick up your phone and start scrolling when you have a few minutes of possible solitude, but you have to give your mind a break. And you can find time, even if it feels like wasting time - the shower, the car, the line at the grocery store, a walk outside. We don’t always have to be listening to a podcast, scrolling social media, listening to music, reading a book. All those things, while not bad and often beneficial in other ways, are not solitude and don’t give our mind time to declutter.
Exactly right, although I am delighted you chose to use your down time reading and commenting on this particular bit of content (probably on your phone?). I love your reference to "declutter:" not all clutter is of the material kind. Thank you!
