Short and Sweet
12 haikus to end the year
By now most of you know I am a minimalist at heart and the haiku is my favorite poetic forms to create. Give one a try and post it here for us all to read! Here are my 12 to close out 2023.
Whispers of year's end,
Chill in air, memories bloom,
Time's tapestry fades.
Winter's grasp takes hold,
Silent nights weave tales of old,
Yearning for rebirth.
December's embrace,
Countdown to the final hour,
Echoes of closure.
Twilight bids adieu,
Moments linger, shadows dance,
Farewell to the year.
Clock ticks in rhythm,
Reflections paint the canvas,
New horizons gleam.
December's soft sigh,
Hopeful hearts seek fresh sunrise,
Endings birth anew.
Twilight’s whispered hush,
Year's last breath in fading light,
Embers of the past.
December winds sigh,
Moments fade into the night,
Resolutions rise.
Clock's relentless march,
Time's fleeting, aching to rest,
Endings, beginnings.
Stars whisper secrets,
December's celestial show,
Hope sparks in the dark.
Winter's silent shroud,
Memories twine with the cold,
Dreams of what's to come.
Year's final encore,
Echoes of laughter and tears,
Embrace the unknown.

Beautiful!
